Is this a typical energy bill?
Just wondering if I could get others opinions on this. My apologies if this has been covered in another thread.
I live with my partner in a 2 bedroom upper flat, in the North East of England. with double glazing throughout. We have a combi boiler, and use gas and electric which we pay for by DD to e:on. We both work during the day, and never leave the heating on when we leave the house.
Our dual fuel bill is currently £55 p/m. Does this sound about right to everyone? Can't help but think it's too high.
Cheers!

Sounds pretty reasonable to me - mine is £138 a month for a 2 bed flat and we're out all day too
is this figure of £55 based on actual meter readings?0 -
If it is £55(£660 a year) for both gas and electricity it is on the low side I would think.
The average bill is over £1,000 a year and, whilst with your property and usage, you would expect it to be below average, yours is 35% below average.
If you carefully monitor yours bills you will be able to calculate if it is correct at the end of 12 months.0 -
Thanks guys, I might give a meter reading soon just in case it's way below! In light of recent reports in the news about misguided estimates, this might be a sound idea.
The only reason this has been troubling me is that whenever I hear downstairs flat using the water, our boiler cranks up! Just didn't want to find out I was paying for their heating too - the tax dodging free loaders!
