Canaries in Feb - any suggestions?

I thought I read recently that one of the cheap carriers were adding Tenerife to its schedule. I can't find any details, does anyone know which carrier it is?

Mum, dad, grandma and 6 month old (in Feb) are looking for a weeks holiday in the Canaries, preferably Tenerife. We are looking to go in Feb 06 but not during the half term. Quite happy to arrange a DIY affair. We can find appartments that are cheap enough but the flights are around £200 each with taxes etc (£30 for the baby).
Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.

  • We always travel with monarch from Birmingham airport, and weve just come back from tenerife and paid £40 each way for flights, they are day flights and they are scheduled (tenerife charter flights notoriously delayed). We have travelled with this flight 3 times to tenerife now and always been on time, nice new planes too.

    Hope this helps

Thanks, I read elsewhere that Monarch are reasonable and Birmingham is fine. How late (or early) did you book to obtain £40 flights and did that include taxes etc?

  • Hi stabilo,

We have booked the tickets via the monarch website usually a few weeks in advance, but you may be able to book now. we have also booked at the last minute and had no probs, taxes were inclusive.
The plus point is that you can go online and pick your seats at no extra cost from a plan, having a well placed, good seat is obviously a benefit to you with having a bambino, I would think.

    Hope I helped!

  • We want to go during the half term week - insane I know! Would we be cheaper doing a package for this week or could we still do it cheaper DIY? We want to stay away from the the really touristy bits but hear it is sunnier in the south. Thinking about Los Gigantes. Any one been there? We also want an apartment rather than a hotel.

    oh yeah...thats for 2 adults!!

lizzie...we stay at a friends apartment on Golf del Sur. Not a massive ammount going on there but quite up market and great for a base for touring the island.

    Have a good one!!
