Not sure if this has been posted but I have been trying to find out how much the car tax would be for a car I am about to buy and eventually came across this. Not sure how accurate it is but it gave me a good idea. Hoping others find it useful. Please post if you know of any others!

Thanks for that! Ours will have gone up by £90 ouch!
If you car tax is due in Feb do you still pay the old rates?0 -
As coincidence would have it, I've just this evening finished my own calculator for vehicle duty. It's based on the official data from the Government website (www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk) but with a prettier interface.
You can find my calculator at www.vedcartax.co.uk - please give it a try and let me know if you find it useful (or if you have any problems with it!).
I don't know where Parkers get their data, as they do seem to have a different set of makes/models from the Government data. The definitive answer can be had by using the CO2 figure from your vehicle's V5 registration document.0 -
mine will be going down by a whole £10 !!!0

The Government Web Site is a joke as usual, try putting in a Nissan Primera for example..:rolleyes:0

I've just added emissions and fuel efficiency data to the vedcartax website.
It's quite fun to see the official view on how many miles we should be getting to the gallon from our cars! Now all I need to do is work out how the pollution figures equate to hedgehogs to come up with a hedgehog massacre quotient! Just imagine being able to calculate that your daily commute kills 3.74 hedgehogs per month!0 -
In attempting to find out the future road tax on my car (Volvo V70 S Automatic - 2002) the DVLA show the CO2 figure as 229 G/KM on registration document - yet Parkers Guide and some Volvo sites show it as 224 G/KM.
One of the thresholds for higher charge of tax is 225 G/KM.
I have e-mailed DVLA for an explanation - not pinning my hopes on a good response though.
Anyone else had problems with Volvo figures??0
