Australians like the really big ones sliced like pickles into burgers in buns... first time I saw it I thought they were bonkers but once I tasted it I changed my mind!If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

My son aged 14 has grown some beetroot which is now ready for cooking. Has anyone a rough idea of how long to cook it for and if it can be done in the slow cooker.

I covered mine in boiling water, and simmered for about 40 mins. They were quite big; it'll be less for smaller beetsI'll add this to the existing beetroot thread to keep ideas together.
