buying a postal order

i recently tried buying a postal order and realised they dont accept card payments :S so you can only purchase a postal order with cash.

anyone else have this problem or is it only my local PO who have this rule

    You probably wouldn't be able to buy a PO with a credit card, because you could immediately cash it, effectively providing you with an interest free cash advance of up to 56 days.

    Not sure about buying one with a debit card. But if not, you can withdraw cash from many bank accounts at the Post Office

    Nope - my PO's the same, cash only... they let me run to the cash point though and then cut the huge queue :D

    Your PO doesn't let you take out cash at every counter? Mine does!

    my post office let you take cash out too, its only a tiny post office with one counter in a corner shop

    You can get cash at POs using cards from some but not all banks, so you might need to go to a cash machine.
