What I have saved and a thank you

My 10000th post, thought I'd do something a little different and post in here.

A thank you to Martin for creating the site and the BGs/Staff who help run it so the friends I have made can be part of it. A thank you to those on many boards especially the DFW and OS ones. A special than you to the OS Flyladies without them I doubt I'd be where I am as the last 12 months haven't been easy.

Right, the important bit, the money I've saved. Well apart from my CC which I pay off every month, I am debt free. After having over £30k around my neck, it's a relief. My partner has things like the finance for the car and caravan in his name but both on very low interest and bought for very good prices so I'm ok with that. I can afford the payments each month after cutting in HALF what I spend each month on groceries/household stuff, if it wasn't for the OS board I wouldn't have done that. I've paid off all the smaller debts like catalogues etc we had in his name too, paid the last one off last week So bye bye Argos card, Littlewoods, LX direct, Studio cards, PC world....I'm sure there is more but I've now been able to cancel the payments to them so I forget. I am paying over £200 less a month out for those which is what matters!

Car insurance, I think it cost me £250 after the £80 cashback from Quidco, less than I have ever spent, in fact I've had over £500 back from Quidco since I started about a year or so ago which I am really pleased with. This months payment has just paid for a break for us this summer.

The bit that makes the most difference isn't so much the money saved, but being able to relax a bit more about money and stuff, meaning family time is much nicer
