DVD Player frozen

We were given a Bush DVD player as a wedding present almost 2 years ago.
It has now frozen with a DVD inside and with the display saying 'hello' !

Was just wondering if I should contact BUSH even though we only have the one year warranty. Don't want to pay to get it fixed as I got a cheap one in B&Q at the weekend for £19.68. It is also made by BUSH.

Glutton for punishment

All help would be much appreciated.

chances are it has given up the ghost, the laser quality of the cheaper dvd players is not as good as the more expensive models.

i have to replace my dvd player in the bedroom, it now only plays dvds and not svcd/vcd.

the old saying ' they dont make them like they used to ' seems correct , i would not expect a cheap dvd player which is used 5 or 6 times a week to last more than 3 years now.
