Easy jet on line check in

Hi,
I am thinking of booking flights for a family holiday with easyjet. I feel about nervous about this - probably because we have 2 little kiddies and I understand there is a scramble for seats! Can anyone tell me whether if you check in online you get a seat allocated please? Also the 20kg luggage allowance - if one case was a bit under 20kg and one a bit over (not going over 40kg for 2 ) would this be OK? Also finally - on a flight to tenerife or paphos say, how are the seats laid out with easyjet planes - are they 3 in a row? I am just concerned that if there is a rush for seats and we can't sit by each other it would be difficult! Any advice really appreciated. Thanks.

seat layout is 3/3 on all fleets. You can't use online check-in if you have luggage but there is a degree of priority if you have kids. You could use 'speedy boarding' to board (theoretically) more quickly but its pretty rubbish really and you shouldn't need it.
Best plan is to check-in early and get to the gate early. There won't be many bag-free online check-in passengers going to Tenerife or Paphos.

My last experience of EasyJet (which was a while ago) was pretty shambolic. There was a scramble from the shuttle bus to the aircraft steps and families with small kids ended up right at the back and were last to board. Then there was a lot of messing about on the plane as the crew attempted 'swaps' so that kids could sit near their parents.
Check out proper full service flight costs. If you are travelling peak season they may be very close to the 'low cost' fare once you have factored in all the chargable extras.
  • Hello

We have just returned from a holiday in Majorca and flew out with Easy Jet, :A I was really impressed they were very efficient. Before everyone started boarding families with children were allowed to board first, I am not sure if this is normal policy as this was our first flight with them. Another thing you could book is speedy boarding which gives you priority, however this does cost extra.

Having just flown with EasyJet I was impressed, very efficient, I know we were lucky, I did notice that families travelling with young children were boarded first.

Have you ever noticed that some 'families' seem to have about 8 parents and one child? ;) I have actually heard people asking parents if they can prtend they are with them so they can board first.

My other pet hate is that when they say that they request those that need assistance to come forward first .. walking sticks, zimmer frames, walking aids and even wheel chairs seem to suddenly appear from various back pockets and orifices. a long queue forms as this brigade then stoops, hobbles and limps their way onto the plane.

When the plane lands again they request those that need assistance to remain seated .. not a walking stick, zimmer frame, wheel chair or limp in site as the same people push and shove their way off the plane ;) Nothing queer as folk

lol Ivan! We have often seen the same thing and made exactly the same comments.

I fly to Malaga in 8 days with a 5 and 4 year old - I really hope we can sit together but if someone refuses to move so we can all sit together I will sit the 4 year old next to them - ha ha ha pay back they will soon change their mind.
