Hundreds of Air Scotland passengers hit with delays
Comments: 1
Passengers booked on Air Scotland flights this week have been told to contact the airline to confirm their flight times after a series of delays.
The budget carrier, which is the trading name of Athens-based Greece Airways, delayed hundreds of passengers in Edinburgh bound for Malaga together with others due to return from the Spanish destination.
Further passengers due to fly from Glasgow were also stuck amid reports that Spanish authorities had impounded a Air Scotland's Boeing 757 in Palma.
According to a report in The Herald newspaper, the travel chaos followed unpaid fuel bills.
Air Scotland founder Dhia Al-Ani has reportedly sold his shareholding to Spanish company H Top Hotels Group.
The carrier was established in 2003 and offers flights to Athens, Paris, Alicante, Malaga, Palma and Amsterdam.
A message on the airline's website said that all passengers travelling between October 17-21 should contact the Air Scotland customer services team to confirm their flight times.
