electric night storage heating
I have been offered a studio flat with electric night storage heating by Council but I am not sure if I accept it as there is no gas in the property.
I have a very bad experience of those electrical night storage heating. It is very expensive and still do not warm the room properly (used to live in a basement, I am not good with cold weather)as well as turning on the electrical night heating I had to buy a gas heater which works with cylinder to make the room warm.
Anybody knows if there is a company who changes the electrical heating to gas for me?, I am quite happy to pay the cost. Do you know how much would it cost for me.

A very basic gas CH set up would probably cost £2,000 upwards.
That is assuming the property has gas supplied to the building - if not add several £thousands more.0 -
I live in a ground floor flat with night storage heaters. It works really well IMO. You just have to plan ahead a bit. It's actually cheap to run, especially when you consider lack of maintenance costs.
It costs me on average 12 units per day over the whole year.
ie: about 48p per day, or about £180 per year to heat my flat (hot water included). That's £14 per month.Happy chappy0
