Help finding firmware, (using internet archives?)

Hello there, I don't often ask for help, but this time I'm desperate...
I have 2 x Aigo A215 1Gb Mp3 players (thank you bigpockets.co.uk bag of crap!). These Mp3 players had HORRIBLE firmware when they were released, and the product was pretty much withdrawn from sale in the UK after a mass of returns to stores nationwide. However, they are Sigmatel 3500 based, which means they share a common architecture with many other flash mp3 players, and updates are easy to write.
The company, Aigo, did release a firmware update utility, which changed the device into something almost usable (and also allowed it to be used as USB mass storage, instead of using MTP protocol in the older version.)
Now, the product has since disappeared off the face of the earth: I think Aigo are trying to forget it happened. I'm looking for the utility to update the firmware.
It isn't on any of their international sites, from www.aigo.com (except possibly the Chinese one, but I can't read Mandarin )
The thing is, the utility is referenced in other results I get in google. Most notably this one: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/aigo.co.uk
(There's two URL's there, both now dead, but it looks like they both reference the utility I'm looking for, which was once hosted on Aigo's UK site.)
Is there any way I can use an internet archive to find and download either of these files? Does anyone have any suggestions?
I really am desperate, I've spent two days (and a lot of work hours,) looking for a solution, and the letters of the google homepage are burned onto the back of my retinas from all of the searches.
Any advice gratefully received.

Just to add an afterthought...
The macafee siteadvisor result above also gives the checksums of the files I need. It sounds like a ridiculous concept to me, and I doubt it exists, but is there any way using a search engine to find files that match this checksum?
I also think the first suggestion of an internet archive that holds large software downloads is ludicrous, but there must be somewhere, surely, that still has this file?Russia is HERE0 -

I did send an email their way yesterday, but no response as of yet. I'm not sure I'll ever get one.
Thanks for the suggestion though.Russia is HERE0 -
you can see a support section on earlier versions of their website
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.aigo.co.uk
with links to firmware thoughI think the archive tends to store only the webpages rather than any files that might lurk beneath otherwise they could end up storing tons and tons of useless data for no reason
apart from finding other users who may be able to pull their version of firmware from it or some such might be a tough call unless they finally respond to your email0 -
I hope you get it sorted. They do have a product page for the A215:
http://en.aigo.com/ProductInformation-437.aspx
So they haven't totally forgotten about it!0 -
Yep. It's just unfortunate their "drivers" link goes to a generic page, with drivers only for other products.
I was really excited when in my bigpockets B.O.C, too. Seems like Aigo generally make really good products, this one just happened to suck big time.
I'll hold out for an email response from Aigo C.S.
Thanks all round.Russia is HERE0 -
I think the top link on here might be what you are looking for

That's definately for a similar Sigmatel 3500 based mp3 player. I've tried many other firmware's of this ilk, and got slightly different (but never functional) behavior each time.
With nothing to lose, I tried it, and my computer recognises it as a 512Mb MTP device, (it's 1Gb, in reality,) but winamp and WMP crash when trying to open it / transfer anything. Also, nothing shows on the display when it's switched on, there's only a slight audible white noise in the earphones, letting me know it's getting power.
Thanks for the suggestions, still no reply from Aigo, but that looks like my only hope, except driver guide and more forums.
Thanks again, any other suggestions welcome.Russia is HERE0 -
For completeness, and in case anyone else was having the same monumental problems with the mp3 player as I was and finds this thread (it was high on google for Aigo A215 firmware,) this is now solved.
Managed to get Aigo Digital Solutions U.S.A. site webmaster to email me the proper firmware files by contacting him directly (after all customer support routes failed!)
Uploaded here and here on driverguide - unpack with 7-zip
The installer doesn't work, so you have to copy the firmware binaries into the App folder containing the updater app, and run it. All good.
Also the player still doesn't work in MTP mode, so use the USB mass storage driver; instructions included in the description on the driverguide site.
