Bad stomach

In Turkey last year and got really bad stomach cramp and the feeling like l needed the toilet even though l did'nt. l was laid up for a week but after a day got a doctor out who charged me £60 to precribe buscopan and dehydration sachets:eek: if l knew that was all he was going to give me l could have gone to the chemist and got these for under £10 and they did not really help though l did get out and about for the last few days of my holiday. So has anyone been in this position before and what did you do and take. Any good medication l could get from the chemist for these symptoms just in case l ever needed to again. l was told that diarrhea tablets would have been no good as you need to flush the bad out of you. So folks Remedys for stomach cramps please.....

Its food poisoning and prevention is better than cure. Plenty of advice on how to avoid it - eating only cooked veggie food is a good start.

If you do get ill plenty of fluids - a pint of flat lemonade with a teaspoon of salt in it will assist rehydration.

Indians swear by turmeric mixed in water or juice.
