Egg Green Interest/BT query

Our 3.9% BT offer was at an end so we cleared our Egg Green account but unfortunately it was a little too close to the usual d/d date which meant Egg took the usual d/d payment anyway, which put our account in credit by the d/d amount.

Not a problem really as we're about to transfer a sizeable amount back to Egg for the anniversary 0% so the d/d payment would just mean a reduction in the amount outstanding on the account, so we just left it be.

Just noticed today though that Egg have charged interest. I'm assuming the interest was on the credit balance as the account was clear approximately 10 days after statement date and before the d/d/ date? Is this their error or have I made a mistake?

I have contacted them to clarify but no reply as of yet.

The other question I have, is that although I know the account needs to be clear before BT'ing, should it be completely clear i.e. not even a credit balance, before doing a BT for the anniversary 0% or shouldn't this matter? Anyone know?

Paying a statement off in full does not always mean you won't pay interest unless you paid it off in full the previous month too.

There is no problem having a positive balance on your card before your anniversary. It is only a problem having interest paying debts on there as once you have the 0% money on you can't pay them off. If you try it comes off the 0% money instead.
