I have an existing reward reserve and had no standing orders into it so set up the standing order as detailed. However my branch have said that the account should show £1200 at the end of the 12 months to get the £50 bonus which is not what this thread appears to say.

So it will be interesting to see if the bonus still is paid if withdrawls are made,

The T&Cs don't say that - would be good if it could be confirmed before I start circulating money for the year between mine, Mrs Anon's and childrens' accounts ...

You wouldn't need a card reader because you don't get a card ;)

I got the message above when I tried to apply for an e-saver account online. What a surprise after this going out on the weekly bulletin. I'm so  I missed the opportunity!

I've just complted my application on-line! :j I just hope the forms arrive and it's easy to set up (I'm not a current Natwest customer).
I was wondering about setting one up for my daughter?

It says in one of those books they send with the paperwork that the £1 opening cheque is either payable to yourself or the bank. My cheque was banked today and it was made payable to myself with nat west e savings acc in brackets afterward.

Hi. Please bear with me if this seems a silly query. I opened a first reserve account for myself in branch with Natwest today after reading this thread a couple of days ago. Although I signed all the papers and provided the necessary id documents all I have come away with is the pre-printed standing order mandate to pass on to my bank with Natwest's sort code on. Am wondering if I will be asked for an opening deposit when written confirmation containing my actual account number comes through in the post in a few days time? Does it matter? Tried to open a first reserve for my 13 yr old daughter (with me as trustee) so that she could also qualify for the cashback but they would not let me (has to be 18). Apparently she is too old??!!!!!to qualify for the childs cashback savings account. Thanks in advance for any help.

P.S. I asked the adviser if I needed to have a balance of £1200 in the account at 13 months in order to qualify for the cashback and he said no but please check this out

Hi I have just opened up two e-saver accounts, one in my name and one in my husbands. I have a son who is 2 years old so he can open a young saver account however I would need to be the trustee!!
As I am already benefiting fom the £50.00p cashback on my e-saver, will we also get the £50.00p on my son's even though I am the trustee?

Does anybody know? As I know it's being greedy but i would really like to get £150.00p cashback.

After reading this thread, I popped into my local Natwest Branch and amended my current e-saver account.
I already had a SO of £100 deposted monthly into this account -have done for a year or more - but as it was rightly pointed out on here the SO has to be brand new.
So spending just 2 mintutes at the bank stopping and starting my SO payments, I have now qualified for the £50 cashback for next year!
    Fantastic......! Thanks MSE!

I have an e-saver account which I've had for about 4 mnths and when I asked at the bank if I qualified for the £50 cash back as I haven't set up a SO on it, they said "no I wouldn't" as it had to be a new account:confused::confused:

If I were you I'd take a very good look at the £50 cashback T&C's. Specifically the one that says...

"Not available on NatWest savings accounts that have existing standing orders in place as at 4 July 2008."

I have opened one for each of my children (awaiting paperwork) plus me and Mrs Anon - this offer is advertised on the website for the Young Savers account and therefore I believe it is fair to assume that the account (and therefore the account holder, not the trustee) are entitled to the £50 as well. If anyone knows different, please say before I start circulating £100 through all the accounts :D.
