Marley roof tiles - any ideas on cost?

Hi,

I am looking to buy some Marley roof tiles on that terrible auction site and am after a guide price, unfortunately i've been searching the net and cannot find anyone with published list prices for marley roof tiles.

A great big thankyou if anyone can post a link, and also many many smiley faces.

    I bought Marley Bold Roll tiles about ten years ago and they were about £1 each if I remember. Pretty certain I got them from Lancastria roofing in Cadishead Manchester 0161 777 9009. They were very helpful but obviously no good to you for supply but should be able to give you a price indication.

    What type of Marley tiles are they? Are they new or used? What quantity are you looking at? Have recently purchased Marley Ludlow plus from Asphaltic Roofing @ 64p per tile ex vat and previously got at 49p ex vat but for a much larger quantity) have also bought 2nd hand ones from that auction site you mentioned @ considerably less than that but also needed to factor in van hire etc. I know these roof tiles are also the same as Redland 49's; it may be worth finding out if redland do the 'same' tile under their own brand.

    Depending on how soon you need the roof tiles, I wouldn't be in to much of a hurry to pay something unreasonable on said auction site as they come up fairly regularly. Another thought, don't just look at the roofing section under 'homes and gardens' but also check out roofing under 'business and industrial' section. Also I have emailed sellers to at the end of an auction incase the buyer has not bought all of them, or if the lot remains unsold, it may be possible to come to an agreement.

    Ring a local roofing supplier/builders merchant and ask for a price - you will need to be more specific about the tile eg. name not just brand etc. and the quantity you will require. General rule of thumb, the bigger the order the better the unit price.
  • I bought a Marley left edge tile a week ago from the local builders merchant and it cost £4.
  • Current prices of Marley tiles assuming you`re buying from a local builders merchants should be in region of ;
    modern/ludlow major/double roman/mendip and most common tiles 67p ea . edgemere 87p ea. plain tiles (small - approx 10"x6") 26p ea. ludlow plus 58p ea.
    Remember you will probably need all sort of fixings from tile clips/nails to ridge , verge and vents
    Normally , and as a rough guide , if you are tiling 100m2 then using modern roof tiles will cost in region of £750 and all fittings a further £500 but remeber you`ll need to add VAT to these prices
    I`m now officially too old to die young

    Cheers for all the replies, 50p ish we have now found out is about right.

    The irony was the tiles were within 1 mile of where we live (on a national auction site, what a coincidence), so I got in touch with the seller and borrowed a tile to see if it matched, unfortunately it was way off, we are looking for about 500 that have weathered roughly the same as the current roof just to match in on the most visible side.
