Yorkshire Bank Readycash

Hi -
Need a new basic account with debit card and cheque book and after looking at the sticky above have decided to go for this account. Couple of quick questions for someone with this account (was with Yorkshire AGES ago so have forgotten!).

With the internet banking - how quickly do tranactions show up to view online?
Also, how long would it take to transfer cash from a yorkshire bank account to a Nationwide one?

Any advice from personal experience MUCH appreciated.

Thank you x

  • Hello Nicki.

I've just replied to your other questions in the other thread. But just to answer the two others you ask.

First. Internet banking is the best of any bank I've experienced. Transactions show up in real time. ie If I order something online and immediately check my account, the transaction will already be showing. It won't say the companys name immediately (that'll happen at midnight), it just says something lile Card transaction and the amount. The balance is also shown in real time.

Second question, I dont know. Sorry.

Answer to second qustion is 3 - 4 business days ( depending on time transaction is processed).

YB is set up to receive faster payemnts but not yet to send. I beleive that should happen in august / sept.

Can you apply for readycash accounts online as my local branch is a good hour away
  • well after many issues with bank accounts etc, i decided to pop to my local Yorkshire Bank, and opened a Readycash Account. Explained to the assistant the troubles i was having with my account (RBS - applied for an RBS Account, accepted all okay, received card - activated it, to be told a few days later that my card was cancelled (not sure if this is because of my debt with Natwest, but RBS would not give me an explantion, all i was told was that my account will be closed in 14 days, find another bank account) . Explained to the Assistant that i only wanted a basic account, as i know i would fail the credit check. I was explained the ins and outs of the account, after 20 mins i left the YB with my account number and sorting code. My new Debit card will be with me by end of the week...

10 out of 10 for YB's Customer Service, i hate banks at the best of time, and i'm so far pleased with the Service i have been given..
