Using joystick on laptop

Hi i've downloaded my fifa 08 disk fine onto my acer aspire laptop,i've plugged in my controller( it's a tesun double shock controller but it's not working) i told the buyer that i had vista and he said no problem, he sent me a usb driver which has windows vista on it, with usb-706 , i put it in and got pictures in my pictures of the controller but that's it please help thanks

Does anything appear on the screen when you plug the controller in to the laptop? Such as "searching for drivers" etc?

That's probably what happens when you put the driver CD in. It just means that there are pictures on the CD - you can ignore that.

As in post #2, does anything happen when you plug in the joystick?

If you haven't yet managed to install the driver from the CD, you'll probably need to go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, find the Joystick, right-click on it and select Update Driver... and "Install the software automatically" (with the driver CD in the CD drive, of course).

The above is how to do it in XP - it may be slightly different in Vista but I wouldn't know, as Vista's not got anything I want...
