Learner support fund question

Hey
In september I'm planning to go to College, I'll be 20 in September.
I live with my Parents still, but will still have to Pay a lil bit of rent, not much .. £15 a week.
I live in a little Village, and to get too the college it will cost roughly £35 by train, It's about a 2 mile walk from the train station to the College, but I'd have to walk that as I just can't afford a weekly buss pass too.
I'm currently looking for a part time Job, but not having much Luck!
...
Now i have heard of the learner support fund that most college's have, but It confuses me a little .. It seems a little " too simple " and easy too exploit!
I was talking to a friend and he said that If i go thier after I Start and explain my situation my Transport may get paid?
The problem is If i don't get this transport paid i don't think I will be able to go to college, it's just too much
Do people think its Likely that with my situation I would get this paid?
May I add my dad is my mums full time carer, so not on a very high income so can not afford to help me out anyway.

Does your college do any form of help with transport costs?0

Have you looked at whether you'd be eligible for the Adult Learners Grant? Have you also taken into account the fact that you may not have to travel in every day? Although the college MAY be able to give you some help towards your fares I think that they would expect you to make some contribution yourself from your earnings. The LSF is much smaller than it used to be and has to be spread thinly where it's needed.0
