If you got a service by a Corgi registered engineer would it be ok?
British Gas are doing them for £49 at the moment. It might be worth asking if they'd accept a cert from BG?

Could you reasonably argue it was installed before 1st April 2005?

Else you might need building regs approval costing £300

Not much help but this CORGI registration requirement for appliance installations is scandalous. CORGI are just a money making bunch of scammers.

Why was a cert. not issued at the time of installation? Why do you not have the name of the person/company who installed the boiler? The person who installed it can get CORGI to issue a backdated certificate up to a certain amount of time and it only costs £2.50 to notify online.
Failing that, as the previous poster said, you would have to get in touch with Building Control at your local council and get them to arrange a certificate which could prove costly.
