Everyone, look on 192.com for yourself!
I could not believe the information they hold on me, no doubt from the electoral role, as BBC News 24 have just done an article; But it's still a shock to see just what they do hold!

Nothing on me, "no results found" but then I've opted out of the published electoral role for many years, and suggest everyone does this, it's a simple tick on the electoral role forms you have to fill in periodically.
Being widely discussed in the media at the moment.0 -

On the help and support tab from the 192.com website - http://www.192.com/support/
Remove my details from the Electoral Roll
Over and above our statutory duties 192.com allows users to remove themselves for free from the Electoral Roll that is specifically published by 192.com. Please click here to download the form and send it back to us. Alternatively you can write to us to request the removal of your personal details.

This doesn't remove all your personal details, only the 'Electoral Roll that is specifically published by 192.com'. Since I always tick the box to keep my electoral roll details out of this website's hands, I am doubtful whether the marriage record they claim to have against my name in this county is mine. Why should I have to pay to find out? What right does this company have to sell people's personal details to someone else? What price the Data Protection Act?
I had correspondence on this matter some years ago with the Data Protection Commissioner. At the time your details were there for anyone who cared to buy an electoral roll. They told me that there was a 'loophole' in the law and they were working on it. That DP Commissioner later resigned.
I have never given this company my personal details but when 192.com was set up they were there on the website for anyone to see. What is the reference to 'over and above our statutory duties' supposed to mean? They have a statutory duty, under the Data Protection Act, to ask for a person's permission to keep personal information and should specify the purpose for which they are keeping it.0 -

Not necessarily!
You can search the older data for free and some services you need to be a paid member, but not basic searches for previous years electoral rolls. For FULL details you need to pay up, but if you know the entire address etc, then its free.0 -
I have no idea what information they hold on me, only that they still have me on my previous uni address which I never registered at and have not lived in for a year. Not going to pay to find out anyway0

Just wait, google will be taking photos of your house soon so a search will not only show who lives at your house but a picture of your house will appear too.
Great for the burglars, pervs, spivs, etc etc...0 -
According to my result, I'm living at my last address with another male ( I don't think so), I'm dead and also married.
Given that my first name is not that common (especially these days) and my surname is unusual, I think that's quite a result.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

There was a discussion on Radio 4 about this yesterday
Although it may be available on line any images will be no more than anyone could see by walking by, or taking a photo, [all of which are legal] plus the image will not be live but one taken previously
Do not believe all you read in the Daily FascistNumerus non sum0
