cancelled holiday - but tickets are ready!!

Can any one help or give good advice. Booked holiday ( for family of 4) to Cyprus to travel end of July 08. Paid £100 deposit back in Feb, but cancelled in May 08. The strange thing has happened though, we received a phone call from the estate agents confirming that our tickets were ready for collection.

Any suggestions - shall we collect or not. What would you do honestly? What could happen if we travelled?

Thanks.

it would be fraud to collect them without paying unless you intend paying for them

Did you cancel the holiday in writing? Did you receive written confirmation from the TO that your holiday was cancelled and no further monies were due?

I see that you have posted (and therefore presumably read) pink30's thread on a similar subject - that contains various peoples' thoughts on what might happen if you attempt to take a holiday for which you haven't paid and are not entitled to.

hi, i note you have already searched this forum for a similar scenario and found another thread which was answered by many people.

you add to that thread by just asking if the OP if she did try and go on the holiday. i would seriously suggest that you view that thread thoroughly as it was answered in great detail and I think the same will apply to you.

    hope that helps

Could prove to be very costly, lets say that you get to Cyprus, Holiday company discover the error and cancel your return flight??

You may have already read my thread posted in June as the exact same thing happened to me. I received tickets for a holiday in Jamaica although I'd only paid a small deposit. Despite everyone's cynical views and advice I decided to go with my own gut instinct and take a risk, I have recently returned from the holiday and there has been no mention of payment what so ever. We were a little worried when checking in at the airport and when arriving in Jamaica just incase there was no accommodation for us, however we experience no problems and once we arrived at our hotel I soon forgot all about it and had a fantasic holiday!! :D
