were just in the process of buying our second family home.we have managed to get quite a discount of this properety due to the owners emigrating and wanting a rapid sale as they previousley had the property rented and the tenant has moved on. now my dilema is our house we live in now is up for sale.but we have had to break the chain to get the new property so we now have two mortgages.one for £155k on the new property(with 20k down) and £32k on our original properety with 70k equity in it.i am wondering whether or not to keep the original property and struggle on to pass on to the children to split the equity when they are ready to buy(or at least the oldest and bak it for the other 2).
the trouble i have is that i cannot leave the property empty so i would need to rent but the property is finished to a very high standard and im worried that a tenant may cause damage to the property unless i got someone i know into the property.
what would you do..?
any ideas would be greatley appreciated
need to have a lightbulb moment

police officers make good tenants and nurses plus army families any damage their respective authorities come down on them pretty quick so there are ways around your fear of damage, with regard to selling instead why hasn't the property sold already i wonder?
