HSBC Graduate Accounts

HSBC has given me 1 months notice that my interest free overdraft limit was changing from 1750 to 1500. The account changes 3 days after i graduate and doesn't inspire anyone to be loyal to them. I really need to find a new bank to change to ASAP because i am sick and tired of HSBC's poor deals for its customers.

Any suggestions? I see RBS and LLoyds are offering 2000 interest free... would going into my bank and asking them why they dont have a competitive deal get me anywhere?

Any help gratefully received as my daughter is in exactly the same position, except her overdraft is about £3k and the interest rate is 18% on the amount over £1500

Best bet is to look on Martins articles about current accounts and find one with a good overdraft offer. Either that, or find a credit card on a 0% deal you can transfer the difference to.
  • Unfortunately theres nothing new on there about this year.

I think people should be informed in there final year about what to expect from HSBC when you graduate so you can move your account the year before. I think RBS or one other gives you 2700 interest free if you've had an account with them for a year.
