i have just had the envirosearch come back on my property and it has come back as 0.1% chance of flooding which has labeled it as a high risk(1 in 100 chance per year)and get this 0.5% of sea flooding(1 in 200 chance per year) the nearest sea to me is approx 45 miles away. there is a brook approx 50 mrts away from the property

it also states a 1 in 1000 chance per year of extensive flooding.

1. has anyone come across this on there searches and what does it mean
2.did it affect your house insurance

any help will be much appreciated as my misses is panicking even more now

  • Have you tried the inputting your postcode into the 'flood map' part of this site?

  • It's the brook which is showing it. How about getting in touch with the agnecy/council to see if any flood protection measures can be taken. They may well reply that the risk is not worth the expense, which can only work in your favour. For what its worth, I input the postcode of my old house in Portsmouth, PO6 1NT. This showed that the whole of Portsmouth and Southsea would be wiped out (all 185,000 of them), although my house have stayed free of water by about 50yds! The envirosearch is certainly taking the half-empty glass stance!!
