Hi, we have just installed a pacific freeview box which has improved the picture on our tv, and we are able to review all channels except BBC 1, BBC2, BBC3 and CBBC.....which show briefly, pixilate (is that the right word?), and then dissapear!
Also, since installation, we can play back videos, but not record?
What do we do to rectifiy this please? (my daughter is beside herself cause she can't watch Tracy Beaker!!)
Thanks in advance......

I also have this problem too. My freeview box is 'warfandale' brand. I tried lots of different aerials, but it was the same with every one.mummybear wrote:Hi, we have just installed a pacific freeview box which has improved the picture on our tv, and we are able to review all channels except BBC 1, BBC2, BBC3 and CBBC.....which show briefly, pixilate (is that the right word?), and then dissapear!

Pixalation means your aerial needs renewing as the signal strenght is crap
or some trees are in the way, or is it facing the wrong direction..
or do a reinstallation of all the channels (first time set-up)
On freeview you cant record a freeview channel whilst yer watching it
becasue if you change channel so the programme on the video, so at playback you will see all your channel hopping.
You will have to set it up differently, Outside aerial to set top box, STB Aerial
to VCR, VCR out to TV,, I think, but just google for STB help or maybe someone else will post here.0 -
Can get BBC1 & 2 via normal tv, but if my daughter don't get to see Tracy Beaker she may get serious withdrawals symptoms!
Please help!!!0 -

Thats why I keep a handy pocket size of chloroform about the house :rotfl:0 -
are you using scart connections or aerial (co-ax) connections to the video ??
if co-ax then you need to tune the video to the freeview box output as a new "channel"
I have to use a TV signal amplifier to get good receptionEx forum ambassador

Have you got a good quality aerial lead ? i had a similar problem with my ferguson box ,turns out the newish lead i had from argos was rubbish & once i fitted a better quality one from maplins the problem was solved.0

Hi Trumpet,
Beginning to wonder if it is the aerial lead....as depending on its position that can be quite tempremental....
You mentioned maplins, what did you get?
