I had the renewal for my home insurance - £100 for contents only with Direct Line (i paid £90 last year) I haven't claimed.
I followed Martin's advice to shop around and use Quidco. Now i have a better policy for £4 a year! Yes, four pounds!
I used CIS for my car insurance too and using Martin's comparison techniques, saved over £300. I was insured third party before, which cost £500. I managed to get fully comp with CIS for £200. What's better still is the £70 from quidco for taking out this policy.
For contents insurance of upto £50,000 and a £150 excess (same as Direct Line) i was quoted £74 for the year. They are offering £70 on CIS home insurance through Quidco, hence the £4 a year policy.
On home and car insurane, Martin has saved me four hundred big ones!! It's pet insurance renewal time soon....
Thanks

Yes, we love Martin and his team!
I haven't evaluated everything saved since I joined MSE.com, but I reckon savings have been at least equal to my annual salary increase! And far less difficult to negotiate!
