Help adding video to website

I am trying to add a video to a friend's holiday let web site. The streamed video is hosted by the company who created it.
Originally I linked to it and all worked fine, but they have moved it on their server so it no longer works. I was advised to embed the code which contains the relevant ID. I have done this, but all I get is a little black square and no video .
I'm not sure if it's a fault with the code or me being thick, I suspect the latter
. I am doing web design with the OU, but haven't got that far with it yet. So if anyone can help me I would be very grateful .
Thanks
