Powergen help
I am in the process of switching to powergen from npower, i was paying £10 a month gas and £26.82 a month for electricity with npower, i have had my direct debit confirmation from powergen and they want to take £98 a month from me for gas and electric, i have now had a new quote from southern electric saying i can save £160 a year, how long do i need to stay with poergen before i can move because i am not willing to pay £300 a quarter when my quarterley bills have only been £180 with npower?
can someone please advise me of where i stand?
thanks, lyn.

1) If you are in the 'cooling off' period of the switch you can stop the switch taking place, remain with your present supplier and start the switch process again.
2) If you are past the cooling off period, then contact P'gen and ask them to explain why they want to increase your DD so much - maybe it's just a keying mistake.
3) If you want to move elsewhere you can apply to your chosen company and switch to them in the same way you switched tp P'gen.
(If you switched to get any incentive from P'gen - Curry's vouchers etc - it may be worth waiting till you get the incentive before you switch again.)0 -
ring them up with details of your previous direct debits and explain how if they were covering your consumption before then as Powergen is cheaper they will be covering your usage still. They will normally change them there and then0

give powergen a call, it seems that someone has calculated your dd amount wrong.
with regards to southern, as in previous posts, the SSE group and EDF group have not increased their prices. this will happen after jan, meaning that you will only have a saving for about a month. if you are looking for a saving, try one of the capped tariffs; npower or powergen.Beware the green?0 -
