    I'm not sure why I remember "ou se trouve..." rather than "ou est..." I did cheat by looking up the gender of "musée".

    Recently picked up french:
    Baisé moi!

    Vachement!

    I was taught more, but I forgot it.

    Its amazing where these threads go. Article about a home seller in dire straights ends up with the forum members speaking french.

    I did that in my French Oral GCSE. I said "vegetable" instead of "legume" . The worst thing, with it being oral, I tried to make it sound French by saying "vegetaaabluh"

    A useful phrase is "pour aller au musee", or "which way to the museum" (literally "for go to the museum"). This is to ask for actual directions.

    Interesting that musee is masculine, I would have expected it to be feminine.

    I know a guy who went to an exhibition in France. In an unfortunate reflexive confusion his stand had "Ne se touche pas, SVP". Until a friendly visitor had a quiet word, he was wondering why the visitors were sniggering.

    There's no need to teach "financial literacy". Basic English comprehension and elementary Maths is all that is needed. It's just that most people don't want to be bothered with working out whether they can afford to live.

    Whilst I have some sympathy, this woman seems to have taken a long time to realise that she's spending a lot more than she's earning.

    I did German GCSE - but as I also did Latin, I'd be able to have a good shot at ordering food in ancient Rome.
