How to calculate call costs with BT?

I have been given a small freelance job to phone businesses to see if they would like a quote for equipment. I am doing this work for a member of my family and obviously want to be fair in how much I charge them for the calls. Is there a device I can fit to my phone that would tell me how much each call cost? I am with BT. I know I could work it out via itemised billing - can I get this info online or would I have to wait for my quarterly bill?
Thanks,
Alison

If you sign up to online billing, as well as getting a reduced line rental (paperless billing) you can also see the details of calls made without waiting for the quarterly bill to be produced. The calls normally take about 2 days to appear as "recent calls" on your online account.0 -
That's brilliant - thanks for such a speedy reply.

Good information notbritishgas, BT do a call logger but they are enormously expensive.
Have you thought of changing your telephone cal provider, bt are really expensive in comparisonmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
As you currently have a BT landline and if the calls you will be making are to UK geographical numbers (starting 01 or 02) why not just sign up for a 1899, 18185 or 18866 so that each call costs 5p and you have an almost instant online call log.alisonjanea wrote: »I have been given a small freelance job to phone businesses to see if they would like a quote for equipment. Thanks,
AlisonTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

To whom are they really expensive in comparism to ? They offer 24/7 geographical calls for £4.95 a month (12 month contract), ideal for home based telemarketer.0
