Investing £15000

I am 60, I do not have a mortgage, and have bought my offices wich are also paid for, which should bring me in about £1200 a month when I retire.
I have about £1500 a month to save, and have a lump sum of £15000 at the moment to invest.
Unfortunately, I have been diagonosed with an eye condition which means I have had to give up driving, and my business may have to close, therefore I do not wish to tie the money for too long in case I need it.
Any advice, please?
