Hi folks,

Cracked the bumper on my '99 Civic, how much does it cost to get a replacement sprayed?

Two years ago I had a scuffed bumper on my Mazda 323 repaired and sprayed for 150 + VAT.

Yesterday I was quoted 150 + VAT for refinishing the bumper on my RX-8.

    So, looks like 150 + VAT:D .

They did a great job by the way.

    Thanks Andy,

I'm actually just looking at the price of a respray, I'll be purchasing a replacement bumper.

Are you going to fit the bumper?

I am getting my Ford Focus 02 reg bumper resprayed today. £150 including vat.

    So probably around that.

I will, get a bumper from a scrappy and spray it.

Try and find a second hand bumper in the same colour, problem solved.

I've tried, without much success so far. I'll persist for a week or 2 more, but if I can find one I'll get it sprayed.

BTW - a brand new bumper fitted is £280, and second hand ones start at 70, can it really cost £150 to spray it? It's an old motor so would rather save money on it, hence not buying the new one.

I got a 2ft long crack in a bumper on a Rover 420 I had. Local bodyshop repaired the crack and painted it for just over £100. No point replacing the bumper if you don't need to.

If its a metallic colour, definitely. Paint is no longer £10 a litre. Labour is no longer charged at £30 an hour.
