Quasi Cash Fee - Can I reclaim?

Hi
I had a few bets on line and was horrified to see Abbey National have slapped a Quasi Cash Fee on me for these bets.
A friend of mine who is with HSBC also used a creditcard to place same bets and was charged nothing.
Have I a right to claim these fees back? I cant see anything on Martin's site about this kind of fee.
Thanks
Graham

Maybe there's something in your T&C's about them?GRAHAM2109 wrote: »I cant see anything on Martin's site about this kind of fee.0 -
The Abbey staff doesn't even know what it is0

Its a cash advance fee, and you'll have absolutely nil chance of claiming them back0

Most credit cards count betting as a cash advance. So paying from your credit card will incur a fee plus a higher than normal rate of interest from the moment you made the payment.
Also some online gambling, online poker site especially, do all their currency as $, so often you'll get a foreign transaction fee aswell, whether a credit or debit card.0 -
Thanks for the info.
Don't know why HSBC don't make these charges. I am going to Abbey today and closing all my accounts.0
