Toddler Reigns

Hi

I have a 15 month old who is very curious and active - I use her buggy most of the time but we are getting to the stage where she wants to be out and about a lot more. I'm considering getting her toddler reigns, but thought it would be nice to have one that doubles as a wee back pack - thought if it looks like a bag she may be happier to wear it...

So far have seen lindam runner and Harness Buddy - both seem good - wondered if anyone out there has had any experience of them and what they thought.

Cheers

We got a Littlelife toddler daysack it's a fab handy little bag fastens round my dd to keep her secure and the detatchable strap is good and strong, she won't go anywhere without her "bag on" and likes keeping a bottle of juice in the little handy pocket on the side. It's also good for keeping a change in, in case off accidents. She point blank refused reins which is why I bough this.
    Booo!!!

Do it, its a good safe way for both of you.

I had so much grief, i had a parent say i looked like i was walking the dog, etc....

I just turned around and said well i don't care what we look like, my child is safe, oh look yours has run off again!!

My sister in law bought these for my twins, it's great, they can carry their own lunch, drinks and waterproofs wherever we go, there's also room for a Makka Pakka toy, a blanket and a doll!! (Slightly materialistic daughter!!) It leaves my backpack free of such things so I can get my own lunch and waterproofs in!!

Reigns are good. I use to make sure that I also held my sons hand whilst I had a grip on the reign to avoid looking like I was "walking" him and also to keep it at the forefront of his habits that he always had to hold on to my hand (a habit that he still automatically does at age 6 now when we're walking together). This way, you don't ending up dragging the child about either.

A couple of things though, be careful to always hold the child's hand as well as the reigns when doing things like going up escalators, getting into lifts etc.

Also, if the child doesn't like them to start with (many don't) then persevere with them. I used to make sure that I put the reigns on before I left the house and so when they get out of the buggy, they are already on. There is less fussing this way.

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

    The red man says no

My Ds has been using the ladybird toddler bag for a couple of month now - since he was 16 months. (He is currently 79cm high and 24lbs in weight). I'm obviously packing it wrong, cos the only things I can get in it is a drink, a snack, a spare nappy and occasionally my wallet.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

We bought one of these as well and it really is worth the money! DS1 loved to fill the bag with his own bits and pieces before a trip out- its now going strong on DS2. Well worth buying!
