I have a sabattical next year, whilst the kids and DH are off schoolfor the summer.
Initial thoughts were a money saving long holiday......BUT it has to be something memorable- kids will be 16, 13 10yrs and maybe the last big family holiday??
Soooo
what about a volunteer holiday family to do something worthwhile?
DD2 may be young but she is mature and capeable so I don't think too young.
As a family our main love is music- kids are very capeable, DH is a primary teacher with a music interest and I can get by too, so I guess this would be an ideal field, if shuch a thing exists (found one thing via google but the link was broken!).
DH teaches and I have other skills that may be of use to a volunteer organisation, but obviously I guess I'd be with DD2. Perhaps a school type placement for us all or a building or conservation project?
Anyone got any useful links?
i have looked at http://www.habitatforhumanity.org.uk/ but not entirely sure this is best use of the skills we have to offer.

THis sounds really interesting, would love to hear from someone that has done it as a family.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Friends down the road here in Western France have had several helpers through this organisation. At the moment a Greek couple have just left and an American family are there for a few weeks more. I think the site is https://www.wwoofinternational.org0
