lol, that's better! People seem to take themselves so seriously on the housing boards, light-hearted banter is met with such disapproval!

Hey, I am always up for a bit of light hearted banter. In fact the following thread, that got quite nasty, by page 9 turned out to be a real good laugh.

That was a fun thread. All the best ones on the Housing forum start with the words "Why is everyone so nasty on here...".
I could do with a 'tongue in cheek' smilie to put at the end of my posts, some people seem to take great offense to them when I'm merely just ribbing them. I usually use phrases like "give me strength" and "God almighty" to indicate false outrage, but the trouble is that so many people on MSE seem to be outraged at the slightest thing, that my 'falsies' gets lost in the white noise.
I actually find many of the people I rib to be quite endearing and view them with the sort of benign eye that a father would view his errant children. So I get really rather upset when they take on so. I sometimes have to blink back tears when I see some of the harsh responses to my posts. People are so cruel, don't you think?Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

lol, I can just see us now in our pipes and slippers sat in wingback chairs in the Old Style forum discussing how MSE wasn't so edgy in our day and how the newbies are all so rude and aggressive.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Little monsters aren't they? Can't help but adore them though.
When you see little !!!!!!?, dannyboycey, conrad and neas running around the MSE playground in their short pants and school caps, giggling away and young carolt playing hopscotch with her braided pigtails flying, why it fair makes me burst with pride at the little devils.
*sniff* I'm getting all maudlin now, must be my age I suppose.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)
