Found out my employer lied to me about the reason I lost my job.

  • Perhaps your boss thought it was kinder to tell you that she can't afford you rather than telling you that you're unsuitable/incompetent in the role. I'm sure it must have come as a shock but I don't think that you can complain about someone's tact, even if you think it's misplaced. Go graciously and hope for a good reference.

    She did say she'd give me one, and we are on good terms. I don't want to burn any bridges, not just for my own selfish reasons. I spent a really long time holding a grudge against a former manager, but now we're actually friends and I don't want to waste my life being angry. I was annoyed because of her history. But hey, things happen for a reason. Plus, I've had my OMG I have no job meltdown, so I can move on now. :rotfl:
