Reduce it, don't leave it where it is.The EA is bullying me to increase my offer. I made an offer of £280,000 for a house selling for £290,000. The house has been reduced twice by 10% and has been on the market for 8 weeks. The EA has had no firm offer despite 6 viewings and told me there is a couple very keen to do a second viewing, they have also have a small mortgage. I am a cash buyer and did not like the fact that the EA was calling the shot telling me to make an offer of £295,000, the house will stay on the market until he sees my funds which I do not mind, he also said I have to put a deposit which I find odd. Has it ever happened to anybody? Of course, I was so upset and walked away. For a house who had 6 viewings and no firm offer, it does not look good. May be somebody with more experience can explain the EA's behaviour especially in a falling market. I will only agree to show the funds to my solicitor who will confirm it to the EA. I think this is fair. As it is I am just leaving it as it is and will not increase my offer. Thanks
£250 is stamp duty thresh hold.
They WILL be there soon.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

Seriously Cherry darlin, listen. Walk away. Have you not seen the news? House prices are collapsing. The EA is laughing at you when he puts the phone down. Tell him to b*gger off and kiss his commission goodbye.0 -
It's a buyers market, not a sellers. The tables have turned very dramatically so this idea is ludricrous, tell the EA to stick it and walk away - they will be back and on your termsStatistics are like a lampost to a drunken man...more for leaning on than for illumination

directly inform the vendor that the EA has !!!!ed u off and u r dropping ur offer (by 10k or whatever u decide) because of market conditions and also because of the obnoxious behavior of the EA and also mention why the EA wants info about ur funds (if he venturing into ID fraud probably because he isnt getting much commission nowadays). !!!!!! does he mean he wants ur funds details not to mention deposit 10% on offer acceptance.
all the more surprising is as a cash buyer u r offering just 10k below the asking price in todays market
:wall: :wall: :wall: Is the property that desirable? doesnt look like if they havent had other offers. bubblesmoney :hello:0 -
Thanks for all your good advice. I have just phoned the EA and withdraw my offer. I did consider whether I should go and speak to the seller so that they are aware of the EA's behaviour. At the end of the day, it is not worth bothering. I was very upset yesterday but I feel better today.0

Do you mean people who want to cal their own, people who want to put a picture on the wall without seeking permission, people who want to personalise their home?
And people who don't want the risk of being turfed out of their home as their contract ends or with 2 months notice?

A very dangerous viewpoint to have in the current situation. No question.
Buy a house now and you'll be losing £100 per day on average. "At least I've got a house though, eh?"
You'll come round eventually. When you've lost ££££££££'s in false wealth.0 -

No.
I'm sure you can work out what I am refering to.
Try moving house in a few years after you have paid the bubble price just after the bubble has burst & rates are 10%
If trying to save someone pain is a sin then I am guilty.
I think I'll stop bothering.
Buy now folks.
Property is a bargain.
I can't understand why the lenders want to go back to the building society model that worked for decades.
Such a silly quaint idea to ask people to show they can save & manage their affairs before giving them a loan.0 -

Too right.

Follow through. Even though you don't want the place now, drop a note through the vendors door saying that you made an offer but withdrew it on hearing the agent's demand. This tactic must be driven out of the market. Thanks for all your good advice. I have just phoned the EA and withdraw my offer. I was very upset yesterday but I feel better today. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0
