Hello GreyPilgrim, not a lot no, have you got problems?

Kind of - I found a budgie in the back garden this evening. Doesn't seem injured, but it was starving and knackered.

I was doing a bit of a workout on the punchbag and looked up, and the cheeky little !!!!!! was just sitting there on top of the bag, swinging backwards and forwards looking at me.

took it indoors (cos I know the wild birds would probably chase it and kill it).

    It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo cute.

It's in the PC room now sleeping (I think). Missus has been out to buy it some millet seeds, and we were going to buy it a cage (but the cheapest one we coudl find was £45....bit too steep).

So for now it's in the PC room, locked away (to keep the cats out) and I really don't know what to do)

pictures of it (very cute, and very tame)

There is a ring around its leg which reads:

    45PJM 90 L

but the '90' is at right angles to the rest of the characters, and apparently it signifies the year it was hatches, so it could in fact be

    45PJM 06 L (which would make it 2006 rather than 1990...more reasonable I think)

It's so cute and I want to keep it, but I already have two cats and they'd worry it to death.#

Anyway, I know how hard it is to lose a pet so I want to try and get this back to it's original owner if possible.

In the meantime, It's shat on my mousemat twice and my hand once.

    LOL

    They do that a lot.

I don't know anything about the ring (ooerr missus), but you are doing the right thing by keeping it warm and beered up!

The RSPCA may be your best bet - they will be able to buy it from you. On higher perches, of course.

It's the same colour as R Joey was.

I've been surfing around budgie owners forums all night and I'm STAGGERED that no-one has used that joke on me until now!

(I reserve the right to steal it and call it my own!)

Don't worry about a cage - it will find somewhere nice to sit for the night. You don't need a fancy cage.

Budgies are lovely - when we had ours, it used to paddle in our dinner and poo on our school books.

Teachers used to circle the poo mark and put a circle round the outside of it.

Crikey, this is making me feel old. The budgie has been an ex-budgie for 26 years!

    I know. It's terrible, isn't it?

I didn't know them very well, but it was quite a shock.

    Makes you think, doesn't it?
