Yeah am ok hun, just tired, and itching like mad. Cant understand why i have got them xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Shingles occurs due to being run down and immune system not being up to par. It's reactivation of old chicken pox virus and not necessairly caught from someone currently sowing the disease. phew...not the recent outbreak down in Farnham then :p

  ...where does that leave me :rotfl: :rotfl: ....

And shingles spots are contagious (but only to someone who has never had chicken pox) if you touch the spots.......and since I had bad bout of chicken pox 20 years ago, I should be in the clear.

So Hun, plenty of Vit C and Zinc for immune system..and can you get Zovirax tablets? That will help. Also calamine is great but when I had chicken pox, they gave me another lotion with local aneasthetic that was even better....but can't remember it's name. (I know nurses treated it like gold dust and every evening my then husband to be had to fight them for jsut a measily 5ml ration..)

    Hugs Hun....not pleasant at all....

Hi m&s, so are you settling back in over here ok?
Glad you are back at work and now living up to your name again, hows it going?:D

Yes thanks! I totally didn't want to come home, but it had to happen in the end. Have been back 3 weeks now and feels like I've never been away! M&S also feels like I've never been away, very depressing really. But nice to be earning some cash again, as have car tax and insurance due, urgh!

    How's your Ms Piglet?

Judi - that bootsing is AMAZING.

Poor - not annoying, just being MSE with the leccy. ;)

Calamine is good initialy cos it sooths but it drys the skin and makes it more itchy in the long run! more of an issue with chicken pox i think! Oatmeal or bicarbonate of soda in a bath is good as it doesn't dry the skin so much!!!

If it's bad the Doc can give you antiviral treatment - but its best done early!

    Hi Judi

Hear hear.....totally agree about it drying the skin. Calamine is a false relief!

How's you my dear? Nice to see you.

    Poor...Eurax is good.

Smashed...can you get a cream with lignocaine in to anaesthetise the pain and itchiness? Ooh..I have aloevera cooling gel with anaesthetic...I will send to you..

    Hugs
