Another Ikea / B&Q / MFI kitchen question

Okay, the grand master plan is currently to buy an IKEA kitchen, installed by our own fitter and appliances are a combination of existing and on-line purchases.

So, the big question is - do IKEA discount? I have the ikea kitchen planner so have their cost (actually, it is only showing prices to 6th July!), but is it worth taking the plan to B&Q etc for comparative quotes to ask Ikea to beat? I have B&Q, MFI, Homebase and Wickes all within 20 miles but Ikea is about 60 miles away and as 'er indoors is wheelchair bound Ikea is going to have to be a one-off visit for them to deliver from their central distribution centre.

Incidentally, I notice a few of these companies offering either 'sales' or 'free appliances' at the moment. At the end of the day, will it make any real difference to the price or does a free dishwasher = £300 less discount available?
Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.

Ikea won't haggle but there's some form of discount avaialable if you set up a credit account (have a look for vansboy's posts)

B&Q, MFI can certain;y be knocked down and yes, not only can you take the discount instead of the incentive appliances, you should be able to knock them down further. Just play them off against each other if you're not confident in saying "but you're not going to charge me that are you?"

We played MFI and BxQ off each other and with all the haggling, we finally managed to get BxQ down to just under half the original sale price for the kitchen we wanted plus a few other bits and pieces.

I will say one thing however, we will NEVER buy from BxQ again...it took weeks and weeks to get the last 2 cupboards delivered, even then they were wrong and my OH had to chop them around a bit to fit...anyway, I could go on... :( but I won't...

I know Ikea won't haggle at all, but MFI will up to a certain point. In my experience, BxQ will always sell below them
