Servicing for VW Passat Merseyside?

We have a VW Passat Tdi 04 model. Does anyone know of a garage that will service it for substantially less than £189? We live in St Helens. Hubby has just booked with a firm in town - £189 - I nearly had heart failure.

That price seems OK to me, especially for a main dealer. Of course, if you put it into an independent it will be somewhat less, but since your car is still fairly new you might still want the official VW stamps in your service book.
Have you tried ringing around to get quotes from other VW dealers?Lack of money is the root of all evil.

The VW dealer in Warrington was charging over £90 an hour for labour four years ago so £189 doesn't sound exceptional. Depends which service it is as well.0
