Hi
A friend and I are going to Bournemouth this weekend.
We had imagined there would be plently of accomodation available last minute. To our surprise there is almost none!
We require somewhere cheap to stay on the 11th and 12th July. All backpackers seem to be at least £17.50 p/p per night - that's if they even have accomodation which most don't!
Tried couchsurfing.com but yet to hear back from anyone..
Perhaps a budget hotel chain could work out cheaper?
Getting a little desperete!

start of the school holidays, stag/hen season, not sure why you thought it would be quiet!
http://www.thelodge.co.uk/ is cheap ish and cheerful for a reason but agaiin no idea if they have rooms
to be honest for £35 a room per night you're going to be struggling at this time of year, none of the cheap hotel chains will offer rooms that low so at best it's hostels or B&B's so will be trial and error. Maybe try some B&B's further from the town centre where they may have space i.e. Boscombe0 -
Or even Westbourne, Southbourne and Christchurch. All every easy to get into Bournemouth from.0

Ok. I've never been to Bournemouth before.
From those places listed, which is closest to Bournemouth?
I have a day's work and need to be on the main Bournemouth beach at 9am. Can I get a bus from those towns listed? How long would it take / how much?
Are there many hostels in those towns?0 -
apart from Christchurch they are pretty much just districts of Bournemouth
Westbourne > West Cliff > Bournemouth Centre < East Cliff < Boscombe < Southbourne < Christchurch
is the closest description of where they lie, Westbourne is probably 5-10 mins on bus to centre, likewise Boscombe, Southbourne is about 15, Christchurch 20-30 or you could get the train from there. Boscombe is cheapest B&B area bar the inland ones. Not sure about hostels, there is a YMCA in the town centre
or http://www.bournemouthbackpackers.co.uk/ but no check in on a Saturday
might just need to ring through the various B&B's till you find one at an agreeable price. The town has a lot of foreign students attending language schools so they often pack out the hostels and the like anyway0
