I think that this was probably a security measure to ensure the account wasn't being abused. If you have suddenly altered your spending patterns this can sometimes happen with Transax so give them a call, I believe there is a number you can call on a Sunday to make such an enquiry.

We use transax through workthere are limits.
If you used transax through a purchase you may find there is a limit on how many the company can do or be at there credit limit for using transax. Our company can only process upto £1000 in any 1 day. But if you have used transax personally at a cheque exchange facility then transax may have placed a stop on any more being processed. You should be told why you can't do any.

ok rung tansax and they advised

no problem with my account or a hold on it, is purely to do with argos requiring further authorisation,

they should have infact of rung up transax and got a manual auth code as they require more information for me

so off back to argos today to see what happens,

so guess its poor training from argos on this matter

so do dixons and pcworld group use transax when doin cheques ?

I had a similar problem with Argos with my credit card, except the transaction when through when it shouldn't have done. I had tried to buy a TV through the kiosk but it didn't work. I had tried more than once. I went to the till and they put it through. They tried twice and then I got the slip to sign and bought the TV. When I got home there were two frantic messages from my credit card supplier (and when I went to work the next day they had tried there twice) to call them back. At the end of my conversation with my credit card supplier they apologised for the inconvenience and told me my card was now reactivated and I could go and buy my tv and they had flagged the account for this purchase. It transpired that after the third attempt my card had actually been stopped and Argos should have telephoned for authorisation before continuing. At that point they would have been told the card had a stop on it and I would not have got my telly and looked a right plonker to boot. However if the card had been stolen, I would have been grateful so small price to pay. They were not amused when I told them that I had made the purchase and they were going to take this up with them for not calling for authorisation.

ok so went to argos again,

they said nothign can do once automatic decision made ????

she hung up not letting me speak to them as i was told they needed further info later,

is it because i have about £300 yet to cash outstanding more then my usual £100 for the shopping there is funds in account so paid cash in end

transax say nothign wrong my bank account card still valid infact they say they cant see anything about my account ??

ill wait till they cash and try again
