What kind of doctor are you?
edit: - oh i see your ending line now. Lol.0 -
Hello to everyone.
It always amuses us Doctors when members of the general public put
forward their non-scientific theory's in relation to certain events or products.
I have provided this link which should dispel any arguements as to
whether or not the energy saving product called Power Tune works;

Thank you.
Yours. Dr Ir Amir Basha Ismail (Phd - Physics)
Why do you assume other people are not qualified in this area?
On who's say so am I unscientific?
Can you be sure that others who have commented don't have a Phd ?
Did you register simply to promote this product? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
The system improves the power factor of your electricity and reduces your electricity bill by up to 25%.
Wow, by up to 25% :rotfl:0 -

No, it only amuses you. Real academics never play the 'holier-than-thou' card; they are only too happy to explain to us 'general public' what they do, how they do it and why they do it. They have a real enthusiasm for their work that they're only too willing to share and never display such arrogant condescension.I have provided this link which should dispel any arguements as to whether or not the energy saving product called Power Tune works
Nope. You provided a link to a non-peer reviewed, non-published document hosted on your own website that publicises your own product! Please excuse us if that fails to dispel our concerns that this product is a con.Dr Ir Amir Basha Ismail (Phd - Physics)
Go you! :T
Now, if you can just provide us with a list of your published work so we can be sure of your credentials; doesn't have to be exhaustive, just the last 5-10 papers will do (preferably including the one that explains your gadget properly). I'm sure such a device that will save the world billions of £ and tonnes of CO2 will have those journal editors queueing up to publish.0 -
The bottom line is that any form of Power factor correction in a UK domestic property will not affect the kWh for which you pay.
In some domestic properties abroad I believe you are metered on kVA, as are some UK commercial properties, and that is a different matter.
The 'learned paper' from the doctor simply serves to explain what every electrical engineer knows - Power factor correction can reduce current.
However his 'learned paper' assumes that there is a constant inductive load in a household - there ain't.
We switch on/off motors all the time(washing machine/fridge/freezer etc etc) so power factor correction, even if it achieved any reduction in our electricity costs, is not a case of slapping a capacitor across an inductive load.
If it were that simple, the utility companies would fit one for free.0
