Any sliding door, folding down back seat MPV's?

Hiya,

I know I have already asked this on a previous thread but thought I may get more response in a seperate thread.

To cut a very long story short, we are after a MPV with

1. Sliding doors
2. 3rd row of seats that fold flat rather than have to be taken out (we need the boot space more than the seats)
3. auto

We looked at the Mazda 5, but it doesn't give us much more boot space than our exisiting Renault Scenic so we really dont want a compact MPV.

In the UK, all that is sold that fits the spec is the Crysler Grand Voyager.

Doesnt seem too much to ask!

If anyone else has another idea pls let me know!

I'm sure I've seen a car just like you describe in a supermarket car park, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Probably a fiat or something. You are no doubt going into the realm of at van-based MPV's.

Have you considered a banger minibus? Might not be as crazy an idea as you might think, especially if it meets all your needs. You can buy old one's quite cheap, plenty of seats, plenty of luggage space. Plus you'll no doubt get one with a sliding door very easily.

Our closest friends have a "stow and go" Voyager.
To quote them "it would have been nice if we had a choice of another car to consider with fold down seats and decent boot space with all seats in use".
So it does seem to be too much to ask I'm afraid, there isn't anything else that does this.

We have a kia sedonna, sliding doors and whilst the back seats do not fold fat into the boot space they do fold in half so you end up with a staggered boot space.

I used to fit a huge twin pram and all the shopping in the boot with out the back seats folded!

Hubby has a Galaxy, he loves it.

The doors slide, not sure how the seats work.

He has the ghia model, its like an airplane inside with overhead controls & bits'n'bobs.

I always ask what film is showing & when is the inflight meal being served.

PS the seats are much comfier than a plane :-)

Do you ever use 7 seats? If not a Berlingo has sliding rear doors and a huge boot. The new version is also slightly less van like.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
