Joinging Esporta Gym

Just wanted to let people know about Esporta.

When I joined I was offered my 1st & 13th Month free and £30 of vouchers to spend in the Gym,

I didn't get any of them! when i enquired about it I was told that I should have been given a voucher when I joined for the 2 months free.

I told them that I didn't get a voucher and their response was tough! you can't get your 2 free months without this voucher.

So be warned they will offer you all these things to get you to join and once you sign you get none of what you signed up for.

You have been warned.

Look at your contract copy. They generally write on the top 13th Month. I have also been told that my 13th month will be free and my contract runs out as of the 1st October (12 month payments). If I do not get the 13th Month for free I will be logging it as breach of contract.

I will be writing to them giving them 3 months notice as required but also making them aware that if the 13th month is not free as stated then it will be classed as breach to which I will terminate the contract immediately.

you say that you will be giving 3 months notice after your 12 months is up. Does your contract say that 3 months must be given at any time i.e including after your 12 months is up. This is an important point
There are posts re Esporta on the Vent Bent Heaven sent section. One post suggests that after 12 months the Ofiice Of Fair Trading has ruled that 3 months notice is unfair.

My daughter is going through a problem with esporta but unfortunately she cannot find the copy of the contract she signed. She has been trting to cancel her contract since March 2008 (12 month anniversary of signing)but has run into a number of problems. At the moment she is stuck with paying until October. We are pursuing this matter with trading standards

I am a member of Esporta but find I do not use it very often. I cancelled my membership at month 9 and can confirm that I have the last month free. My last payment was 1st November and they have confirmed that my membership ends on 31st December. Although I don't think the membership is good value, they have stuck to their word over the 13th free month.
