I want to make some Marzipan for the Christmas cake this year. However I can't stand the stuff as I hate almonds or almond flavouring.yukky yukky yuk yuk:eek:
Is it possible to make a marzipan with a different nut? Has anybody ever tried or know of a recipe?
If anyone knows could they please advise.

There's a white marzipan but I'm not sure what it's amde of and I have vague recollection of others. Ingredients:
2 ounces margarine
2 tablespoons water
2-3 teaspoons of almond essence
(you could substitute vanilla essence if you don't like almond)
4 ounces sugar or golden syrup
4 ounces soya flour
Melt marg in water, add essence and sugar or syrup, then soya flour, mix all
together. Turn on to a board and knead well.
Roll out and use as required.0 -
