Screen res help please

Hi, I had to re-install Vista Premium the other day due to a boot problem. All is fine apart from one thing- I think there's something wrong with the resolution. I've checked the res which is set to 'high' (the same setting I had it on before, 1366x768) but there is a problem. When I try to apply a wallpaper. I used to have 4 options to set it (tiles, widescreen etc) but now there are only 3 options, and when I set a wallpaper it is either tiny or stretched as the last option is missing. I updated the graphics driver and also tried every other resolution but they are all blurry. Any ideas? (Yes they are wallpapers I used prior to the uninstall so I know they work, I just can't figure out why the one option has gone missing to set the wallpaper as widescreen) it is running Vista Aero...Thanks.

(I can post a screenshot if I haven't explained it very well)
Also, I noticed in Windows picture viewer the photos show up as small and square and not the true size like it used to. I have to click on 'show true size'.

Hi 1366 is odd do you mean 1360? Also are you sure the res does not go to proper settings like 1360 x 1024 or higher 1680 x 1050 ??

This is a resolution only used by widescreen tvs, if your computer is on widescreen try 19"1440x900 or 20/22" try 1680x1050, if its normal square one
at 19" it will be 1280x1024
    at 17"=1024*768

It only lets me select 4 resolutions. The orig one I typed is correct, the other 4 are blurry or too big. My laptop has a 11.1" screen (Philips x67) I will give it another go though just in case.
Edit: These are the resolutions I have the choice of.
    1366 x 768
    1280 x 768
    1280 x 720
    1280 x 600
    1024 x 768
    800 x 600
Every resolution apart from the top one is blurred and stretched. The 4th option in background is still missing. Ill post a picture so I can show you what I mean.
