Hi
It takes 10 seconds to sign the petition on the Governments website to try to:
STOP the higher road tax rates for cars that emit more than 225g/km of CO2 and were registered between March 2001 and March 2006. This includes "FAMILY" sized cars.

i cant see this making such a difference, the one that make these rules are in a world of their own, they moan on and on about car sharing, now whats the point if theyre just gonna cost more to run?
i got this as well when i tried to sign anyway
Sorry, but we weren't able to add your signature to the petition, because our site is extremely busy at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes' time0 -
Petitions like this are a great way for the government to say "look we're listening" and for people to feel as though they're doing something. In reality they're ignored.0

Mr Brown needs this money to fix climate change:rotfl:0

I've signed a few of these recently and none of them have changed anything. i think they're just a sop to the public and are totally ignored by the Government. I think you'd be better off writing to your MP. Although I don't think that will make any difference either. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Dont bother with pertitions, they dont work. Instead write to your MP, especially if they are Labour. Make it clear that you wont be voting Labour at the next general election if the government insists on applying this tax retrospectively.
Its not hard, just go on the write to them website and type your letter in, they will post it for you.

Also, its not just cars that emmit more than 225 g/km that will be paying more - cars in lower bands will be hit hard too.0
